    I stayed there.
Currently, it is not a hotel, but seems to operate like a monthly apartment.
They said they were testing an unmanned operation (like the self check-in/out system that is common in Japan?) The change of business type may be due to legal reasons in Taiwan.
It seems that the temporary suspension of reservations due to this change of business type was the origin of the earlier information about the closure of the restaurant.
Currently, it seems to be treated as a lease in terms of Taiwanese law.

However, as mentioned earlier, you are free to leave at any time and there is no penalty.
The fee was 9,750 TWD for 30 days, which is about 46,000 Japanese yen (as of March 2024).
I think the cosmopolitan price will vary greatly depending on the length of stay.

There are already many reviews about the rooms and facilities, so I will turn this off.

There were quite a few guests.
The 4th floor was empty, but the 2nd and 3rd floors (about 8 rooms in total) were occupied.
I think the hotel is probably crowded during the Pride Parade and other events in March, which is a quiet season.
When I stayed at the hotel, the clientele was mainly in their 30's and 40's. (I didn't actually ask their age. (I didn't actually ask their age, so I'm judging by their appearance)

Actually, I have used the hotel several times, but what I think has changed greatly since I used it this time is
    The clientele is fixed.
In terms of rates, many of them are long-term users.
I stayed for a week, but there was no change in the group of people staying at the hotel.
Therefore, if you are looking for a place to develop, you may be disappointed if you don't find someone you like.

The owners and staff were very friendly and really nice.
We even had drinks with other guests.
The owner in particular is a crazy nice guy who cares a lot about his customers.
Personally, I thought this alone was worth the price.
There is also one staff member who speaks Japanese (he is handsome in my opinion lol).

Raohe Street Night Market is within walking distance.
    I often go there myself.

One thing I am concerned about is the cleaning.
Compared to hotels in Japan, this is a bit of a concern.
However, I think this is not limited to this hotel.

I made a reservation for my upcoming trip to Taiwan.
The official website is no longer available, but you can make a reservation via the official LINE.
I don't know if I should write the account of the official LINE here, so I'll leave it for now (the name was also changed to GS gay rent).

They said that you are free to check out at any time and there is no penalty (but you will be charged for one month's rent).
I think the price is cheaper than staying in a regular hotel if you are staying for more than a week.
It depends on how much you value the characteristics of Gay Hotel, but if you are staying only for a few days, I think it is more cost-effective to stay in a regular hotel.

I will see how it has changed with this business model.
I will review again after I return home.

I was planning to stay in this hotel for my upcoming trip to Taiwan, but now it seems that reservations can only be made for 30 days or more.
I gave up because it is impossible to book for more than 30 days.

I am staying in this hotel from October 6 to 11. Number of the guests has been decreasing now. Also, let me correct the information that the last reviewer posted. (Sorry!) There is one remote control for air conditioners on each floor, but there is an air conditioner in each room, and I was told that the remote control is shared, so I must return it to its original position after using it to set the temperature in my room. So I turn off the air conditioner in my room at night and go to bed.

I stayed for 5 nights in September with a reservation for 7 days. As others have said, there were a surprisingly large number of guests (mostly Asian in their 20s and 30s. There were some westerners as well).
If you leave the blind curtain open in your room or go to the PC space on the top floor where the GV is playing, you will have encounters. Everyone wears underwear or bath towel, so it's like a clean cruise club.

I reserved a room for 7 days, so it was nice to be able to stay the room until the last minute on the day of departure. Since I was departing at night, I was able to tan on the terrace next to the jacuzzi, which is not in operation right now, during the day, and shower and get ready at leisure.

The rooms are small with almost only beds, and the air conditioner cannot be turned off even if the wind is strong (common remote control for each floor), but I think it is a good deal if you are staying for a week or so and want to save on hotel costs.

It's not in Ximending or downtown, but with Google Maps I could take a bus to Taipei Station when it was hot, and I don't feel it's that inconvenient of a place.
I would recommend it to both Taiwan connoisseurs and first-timers.

I stayed in this hotel for a one-week trip to Taipei.
I thought there would be fewer guests because of the 7-day minimum stay, but there were quite a few guests staying at the hotel. (I had the impression that the number of Taipei residents had decreased and the number of local residents and foreigners had increased).
    The staff is very friendly.
At night (after 23:00 or so) or before check-out time, there are guests hanging around looking for a "partner".

The facility is male-only, so it's very easy going.
When showering, some were in their underwear or towels only, and some were walking around completely naked.
As with any place, if you can't act on your own, I don't think you'll have much fun.
There is one staff who speaks Japanese, but communication with other staff and guests is basically in English or Chinese.
If you cannot speak at least simple English, you may feel uncomfortable.

Late August, only one night, but I could stay there (reservation was made in June).
As others have reviewed, they only seem to accept a booking for consecutive nights. Another guest I met was also staying consecutive nights, so it doesn't sound like it is closed. The system had changed a bit and got more secure. The blue key was gone and the system was switched to a PIN system.
In addition, the facilities were nearly inoperable, but the staff was as friendly as ever and I would stay there again.

I was curious about the closing, so I asked them directly.
I'll spare you the details, but it is not closing.
However, currently it seems that reservations can be made for a minimum of 7 days.
(It is available for less than 7 nights with some consultation, but the fee is the same as 7 nights.)

I tried to make a reservation, but now it seems that you have to stay at least 7 days to make a reservation.

When I was there about 6 months ago, I was invited to a karaoke party by the staff.
It was a very fun and memorable experience, and I would love to stay there again next time, so it's sad news that the hotel is getting ready to close...

This will be a follow-up ... I'm on 2nd day staying in this hotel.
This is about the their amenities.
Shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are all-in-one. So you might want to bring your own if you are concerned about that.
I'm watching a movie on the 5th floor right now, and I'm lucky that my favorite actor is playing without mosaic.
